Danny joined the GVCC team in 2012 as a student researcher and worked as a research analyst until 2020. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from North Carolina State University where he used the GVC framework to study the development potential of niche products, specifically goods that have geographical indication labels. Danny also holds a Master in International Studies from North Carolina State University and a BA in Spanish Language and Literature with a double minor in Global Trade and Commerce and Latin American Studies from Wake Forest University. At GVCC, Danny has worked on projects for a variety of clients including the U.S. Department of Defense, World Bank, Organization of American States and USAID. He has also helped lead two Duke Bass Connection courses through the center, both focused on applying the GVC framework for global health challenges.
